Just to continue my discussion of Diversity Down Under, I thought I would inform you of a wonderful movie that is a testament to strength and courage.
Rabbit Proof Fence is a movie about three Aboriginal girls who were stolen from their families and transported the entire way across the Australian continent to live in the mission set up by the government to educate Aborigines and to raise them as white people.
These three girls actually escaped and found their way home by following the rabbit proof fence that divided Australia from east to west. The oldest girl was 14 and the youngest 8. They walked over 1000 miles over a 9 week period of time. It is an amazing, true story of what young people can do when they have a burning desire and a good plan.
Watch the movie today.
